Eton calls its terms 'Halves'. Starts are the 'Boys Return' days, which are also the last 'Training Days for Masters' (listed as INSET). Long Leaves (half terms) run Fri 23 Oct-Sun 8 Nov, Fri 12-Sun 21 Feb and Fri 28 May-Sun 6 Jun. Halves are taken to end on the Friday the leave starts and restart the Monday after. Exeats are the Short Leaves. Optional B Weekends (Sat-Sun): 19-20 Sep, 21-22 Nov, 23-24 Jan, 6-7 Mar, 15-16 May. Summer Half ends Saturday 3 July. Fourth of June Sat 19 Jun.

Three Halves per year; bursary FAQ states the 2026/27 annual school fee is £65,674 inclusive of VAT (tuition and boarding). Acceptance Fee for Michaelmas 2026 entry £3,840, of which £500 is refunded on leaving. Overseas families pay an Additional Deposit of one term's fees. Music lessons £548-£1,096 per Half; extras usually £500-£1,500 per Half. Student visa charge £3,000 per year.

Entry points: 13+, 16+
Register online by the end of UK School Year 5 (fee £480). Stage 1 in the autumn of Year 6: ISEB Common Pre-Tests and a Head Teacher's report. Stage 2: interview and online predictive test at Eton. Successful boys get a Conditional Place confirmed by King's Scholarship, Common Entrance or Eton Entrance exams in Year 8.
